Automatic Tithing

A few members of our church have been using their online bill pay through their bank to send their Tithe each week.  They had asked for this option and have told us what a blessing it has been for them to be able to set their tithe and have it come out of their bank each week or each month.  If you are interested in automatic tithing, here is all you need to do:

  1. Log in to your online banking
  2. Setup “Upper Saint Clair Alliance Church” just like you would for a new bill.  When it asks for an account number, just create one and include the word TITHE
  3. Create an automatic payment for the new payee you have just added and set the amount and frequency
  4. The church office recognizes the envelopes and puts them directly in the safe to be processed by the Treasurer and his office help.

If you would like any portion of your tithe dedicated to a specific ministry, you can use the memo field on your online banking or call the church offices.

Testimony

I set this up about 2 or 3 years ago and it has been a real blessing for me.  I had never tithed in my life since I was not saved until I was 24.  Through my bible study, I came to believe that tithing 10% of my income is what is requested and I thought this was the least I could do with all the blessings God had poured out.  Despite my best efforts, I came short every year.  Weeks spent traveling or when I forgot my check added up and I always found it difficult to catch up.  Then I set up my tithe to get mailed every week through my online banking.  I love it.  It makes sure that God gets the first fruit of my labor and not what is left over.  Since I set it once and let it run, I never miss and I feel great about tithing what I planned.  I’m sure it has its benefits to the church as well, but for me it has given me a peace about this part of my walk with Christ.

Bible Verse of the Day

“There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear, because fear has to do with punishment. The one who fears is not made perfect in love.”
